Deborah J. Raines is dedicated to shaping functional families and resolving conflict. Deborah has practiced family law almost exclusively for 15 years. She is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and an experienced courtroom litigator. Her experience in New Mexico law and the procedures for domestic relations cases allows her to handle any divorce or legal separation. She is also well versed in the current status of New Mexico law pertaining to same sex custody and separation situation
Deborah has experience serving as a Guardian ad Litem, or as a lawyer for children needing their own representation in their parents’ divorce or separation. She is an effective divorce mediator and facilitator for people who wish to divorce with minimal court involvement.
Deborah graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in May 1990. As President of the Women’s Law Caucus she received the award naming her the Outstanding Woman Law Graduate for her class. Her Bachelors Degree in Child Development and French is from Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut. She has a background in psychology and completed her practice teaching in the British Primary Schools.
Deborah serves as a Director of her neighborhood association’s Water Board and also serves on various committees at her church. She has two grown sons and a lovely daughter-in-law.
